I also stumbled over this today. Unfortunately I didn't see, that there was already a thread for this, so I posted at http://groups.google.com/group/firebug/browse_thread/thread/f8ef9f942525e4ee#. I just wanted to note, that the current message lacks a description why debugger is deactivated.
Also I already wrote the Google team yesterday for not providing the "reliable" service they are talking about. I didn't get an answer yet.
