Hi there! I can't reproduce this using FF 7.0 + FB 1.8.3 + WinXP. You're talking about the text cursor in input fields and text areas, right? What do you mean with "Highlighting of text is not possible anymore"? You can't select text on a page? Note, that just uninstalling and re-installing Firefox normally doesn't change anything as long as you keep your profiles.
