Thanks for the reply Mike, will see if I can get the JSDT client up and running.
I did find an old article[1] about getting crossfire up and running and interacting with it. Unfortunately it required that I use v0.1a of crossfire and the equivalent version test server. I managed to get them connected and to list open tabs in the client but couldn't actually enter into a context to remote debug it would just hang.
