It seems to be this issue:

The problem is that that lower-right icon which used to appear at the page
is not showing up the first time Firebug Lite is loaded, which gives a
impression that Firebug Lite is not being loaded. Press F12 (or shift+F12 if
you are in Firefox) to open up the UI.

I don't see the "Failed to load resource" neither the "The site's security
certificate is not trusted" warning messages you mentioned. What are the
exact steps to reproduce them?
