Lately I also sometimes realized, that the Start Button was not automatically put into the toolbar when I installed Firebug in a fresh profile. Though maybe that's just on FF 10.0a1. At least when I installed it in FF 7.0.1 right now the Start Button appears in the toolbar, but I didn't investigate any further yet. Could also be a conflict with add-ons, that are automatically installed into each new profile like virus scanner add-ons etc.
