I assume you already read about the bfcache at 
Mozilla<https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Using_Firefox_1.5_caching>, 
right? There they say, that onload handlers are not triggered, though the 
page is already several years old, so maybe the info is not up-to-date.
I think here is a good place to mention again, that it should be easier to 
distinguish the different kinds of 
requests<http://code.google.com/p/fbug/issues/detail?id=3757>
.

Hmm, I also see, that the event handler is triggered when switching back to 
the site. Honza, do you have an explanation for that?
