Good point. Please create an issue<http://code.google.com/p/fbug/issues/entry?template=User%20enhancement%20request>for it. Note, that F1 is only bound to the FAQ page if you have Firebug focused. When the browser is focused your "New Tab" shortcut should work as expected.
