Note that Firebug Lite is not actively maintained at the moment because we 
don't have enough resources.

Without further investigating I suspect that a CSS style in your page is 
causing this problem. To investigate this you can remove the HTML elements 
one by one and check when the Firebug Lite UI is shown. When you found the 
right element, check which styles are applied to it to find out what's 
causing the problem. Note: You can use IE's integrated dev tools to inspect 
the Firebug Lite UI.
