Opening it via F12 in Chrome 21, IE 9 and Opera 12.02 works fine for me on both sites. Note that on your Joomla 1.5 site you have Firebug Lite 1.3.2 while you have 1.4 on your Joomla 2.5 page. Also note that Firebug Lite has some startup options<https://getfirebug.com/firebuglite#Options>to control its behavior.
