I never experienced this issue under Windows. From the screenshot I'd say this issue is unrelated to Firebug, i.e. a bug in Firefox. Please create a new Firefox profile and just install Firebug in it. Does the problem still occur? Also, which version of Firefox and Firebug do you use?
