After your reply, I went through everything carefully to sort out what's bugging me about Firebug. I see that it appears to be the browser (Firefox) that's rearranging my CSS, so I'm not correct in blaming Firebug for this. Two things that are annoying now is that Firebug adds in a heap of system CSS (from html.css) that I'd rather not have to wade through. And also I miss the blue hi-lite block that focused one's attention on the element being examined. That was most useful, and I miss it. True, Firebug still works, but I sometimes have to create a false color in order to locate a stray block, then delete the false attributes afterward. The blue hi-liter was useful.
