Firediff is also a Firefox extension (add-on) so, you need to install it 
just like any other extension (e.g. Firebug itself.)

Firediff 1.1.5 seems to be the latest version

As far as specific features are concerned, read Firediff home page or ask 
the author.
(I don't have much experience with this extension)
