You're right. Firebug can't know what's going on on the server side. It 
just sees the generated output. That's also already described in the 
FAQ<https://getfirebug.com/faq#Where_is_the_source_shown_inside_the_HTML_panel_located>
.
For getting to know where the server-side files of a CMS like Joomla, that 
generate the HTML content, are located people should read the manual of the 
CMS they are using.
