Apologies for the delay following this up - if it helps, it looks like this 
happens to me when both Firebug and the 'Cookie Monster' add on 
(https://addons.mozilla.org/En-us/firefox/addon/cookie-monster/) are 
installed. Removing either extension fixes the issue.
