What you can do is to create a new profile and just install Firebug<https://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Install_Firebug_into_a_clean_profile>in it and then try out if you can still reproduce the problem. There are more steps on our first aid page <https://getfirebug.com/firstaid>you can follow. Please let us know what you found out.
