For me the page takes about 600ms with and without Firebug open. To me it sounds like another extension or some preference could cause your problem. Does it work for you on a fresh profile with just Firebug installed<https://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Install_Firebug_into_a_clean_profile> ?
