Michael, you have always been able to do this with Firebug - it's just a
little bit hidden.
When you have selected an element with no class, right-click on some
whitespace in the Style panel and choose 'Edit Element Style'
Element.Style {
}
will appear in the panel and you can add the style you need. The way you
have done it is the long way round.
