Sure, you can prevent updates for add-ons within the Add-ons Manager. To do so click the gear button at the top right and uncheck *Update Add-ons Automatically*. Though it would be better if you helped the Firebug Working Group to fix the problems you experience with the 2.0 version. So what's the reason you downgraded to 1.12?
