Well, if you use Nightly with E10S, you should be able to see the Firebug 
icon. Clicking on this icon should display a message telling you that you 
should update to Firebug 3. 

Does it work for you?

Tested from my side on 36.0a1 (2014-11-03) with E10S enabled, and Linux 
Debian Sid.
