Firebug does not offer a menu item called *View Generated Source*. I assume 
you are talking about the *Web Developer* toolbar function.

If that's the case, please contact the author of the *Web Developer* 
extension <http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/>.

Note that Firebug displays the generated DOM elements within its *HTML* 
panel <https://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/HTML_Panel>.
