This is easily recognizable in those cases: 1. Only if you write a dot you will get an auto-completion for LaunchLog, if it was set before. So, if you don't see LauchLog when you type L, that's an indicator that you mistyped something. 2. It *is* reported as error (that LaunchLog is undefined) when you try to access the property.
Note that it is not output as an error on assignment, as global.profile,LaunchLog = "foo"; is a valid JavaScript statement and creates a global variable called LaunchLog.
