Concerning the question whether the FBI alert on April 1st was a joke: sample analysis indicates that their alert relates to a minor variant of a BAT-based worm detected end-March and named "Firkin-A" (indeed, some AV companies use another name which is rather crude adressing details of the worm :-). In civil language, the new variant is named "Firkin.b". Several AV products detect bothe critters, and some description can be found on related web sites.
