        That depends on the application you're using under Linux. For
Netscape, go to the Proxy setup area (Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Proxies,
check off Manual, then press View) and fill in the IP address and port of
your proxy server into the FTP Proxy, Gopher Proxy, HTTP Proxy, and
Security Proxy.
        To instruct Lynx (the text mode web browser) to use the proxy, add
the following lines to /etc/bashrc . Change the 3128 in the lines below
to the port on which your NT proxy server listens.

http_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:3128/"
https_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:3128/"
ftp_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:3128/"
gopher_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:3128/"
export http_proxy https_proxy ftp_proxy gopher_proxy

        Cheers,
        - Bill

Unix _is_ user friendly. It's just very selective about who its friends
are. And sometimes even best friends have fights.
