I have been doing systems integration and installing
firewalls for my clients, big and small. And now
lately infact many of our customers are demanding
that I show them how does the firewall behave under
load conditions, like say 500 connections through it
every second.
What I do normally is install the firewall and
configure the security policy on it and show basic
sys admin commands and etc to the sys admin incharge
in the company. But I am unable to show them the
simultaneous connections. I did contact the vendors,
(the big two vendors of firewall nowadays), and all
they say is that the firewall has been tested in
their test labs and that it can withstand
500 connections per second connections. But my
clients refuse to buy the argumant and one of them
hired a independent consulatnt and he showed them
how the firewall just froze after "x" connections.

Through this list I want to ask if anyone knows
about any such tools or utilities which can
simulate such concurrent connections ? I am pretty
sure there are a lot on the web for such related
tasks.

Please email me your suggestions asap at

thanks
