I was looking at the 3rd annual firewalls buyers guide and found page
http://www.icsa.net/fwcd/cisco/pix.shtml
which contained links to companies which make third party software for PIX
(sys)log files.
http://www.telemate.net/pix/
http://www.4privatei.com/
(apologies is linx are in html)
I am actually hoping to find a cheaper solution for hashing through log
files. My perl skills just are not yet up to the task though.
>From what I can see in technet (Q176924) you cannot create a vpn through MS
Proxy. You either put the pptp server in the DMZ or you create the VPN with
the Proxy server thereby connecting your entire network.( not my goal)
However this is not the case with pix which I have read more than once is
compliant with Internet security (IPSec) and Internet key exchange (IKE)
standards (again see above article).
So I guess the answer to my original question is yes MSProxy would give me
a headache.
thanks for the replies and for letting me think out loud
