as far as i understand, yes. people connect to the saprouter on the
firewall, and the saprouter connects to the specific sap machine. it also
has access lists based on IP addresses, and afaik you can also password
protect the saprouter. as with most other proxies, if you have the saprouter
installed on the firewall itself you don't need to open up any sap ports on
your firewall. ofcourse the saprouter doesn't *have* to run on the firewall.
you can put it on any machine you want to. if, however, you are convinced
that the saprouter is secure (and i don't know if i am), a firewall seems
like the logical place to put it.
