I found a rather simple solution for this problem that I am currently
testing and implementing. There is a product caller surfControl
(http://www.surfcontrol.com) that works with a firewall. While the
firewall can block incomming, surfcontrol monitors the internal ip
traffic and logs source and destination. You can block outgoing traffic
to specific IP addresses or you can set a block so the the workstation
will not be able to connect to the web. In addition, connect time and
file names and size are logged.
It does work and is a good fit with a firewall.
