Do you have any examples or links to such scanner/sniffers if any are
available as share/freeware ?

rules of
security.
Never assume someone else, who has no interest in your
security, is
providing it (especially see comment about cable providers
below).
The only thing you should assume is that RJ45 coming out of
that box is
wide open, and go from there.
