You can run Webtrends on the NT box to analyze log files brought over from
the Solaris Firewall, you just have to get the Syslog info onto the NT box -
The more secure method is to FTP the log file over from the Solaris box to
the NT box (the "automated job to run at midnight every night" Kinda thang),
although depending on your network setup you can have your Solaris box
mirror the Syslog to the NT box (you'll want Syslog software on the NT box,
I'd suggest www.netal.com for the SL4NT product).
You'll find the Standard version of Webtrends will run some firewall files
(does a nice job on Raptor), but most firewalls would want the Webtrends for
Firewalls (at a greatly inflated price - about 3-5x the price of the std
version). Unsure about what format Checkpoint does.
