Ben,
You've hit the nail on the head.
It's really amazing the number of people who don't recall the same
discussion being held about UNIX almost 10 years ago. I Seem to recall a
time when even it was considered an platform that had no business in the
commercial environment. Seems even that has changed.

Subject: why discuss "why not NT"?
And I thought we were professionals.
I'm sure I've said before, I'm no Microsoft fan, but I'm much more against
this kind of unqualified vilification. All I can read from this post is that
the poster has read of a lot of anti-Microsoft text and doesn't have the
time, inclination or ability to sort out fact from fiction. And that's being
kind. NT _by design_ is quite cool. Some of the implementation
is...um...still evolving. And I don't know what gives anyone that idea that
NT or MS stuff in general is the only OS family that is subject to virii.
There was one important point though - the NT discussion is getting _really_
boring. 8) There were a lot of good points that came out early, but I think
we're getting a little religious, yah?

The discussion about using or not using NT is getting really boring.
The same happens with MS Windows NT: everybody knows that the OS is plagued
with horrible bugs, that there are several important misconceptions in the
design of the product, that is is really extremelly fragile to very very
simple
attacks and so forth.
