Jen,
I used to have problems getting the LiveUpdate to work but I eventually
fixed them. Here's a method that I used to manually get updated
signatures:
1. ftp the latest definition file based on mmddx86.exe (eg.,
0607x86.exe)
ftp://update.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/antivirus_definitions/nor
ton_antivirus/0607x86.exe
2. Copy exe file over to firewall box.
3. Stop firewall by either:
a) start/settings/control panel/services
find 'NAV for Firewalls' and click stop
OR
b) from command prompt: net stop "NAV for Firewalls"
4. Do update...at a command line prompt:
0607x86.exe /fw
5. Restart service by either:
a) start/settings/control panel/services
find 'NAV for Firewalls' and click start
OR
b) from command prompt.. net start "NAV for Firewalls"
6. You are updated with latest virus definitions.
This info was found on www.symantec.com.
