I am a novince in this area. I am interesting in realizing a NAT
(network address transmition) program on linux.
But I am not very familiar to the details about the linux socket to get
ether frame .
I can get a frame, but I do not know wether I have got the ETHER
FRAME'S CRC field as well.
If the CRC of the frame is also transmitted to the program, then if I
want to change the data in the frame and send
the modified frame later, I have to modify the CRC of the ETHER frame ,
right?
And an other question: If the network interface is set to PROMISCOUS
mode, it can receive all packets,
but if it received a ARP ,which do not intend to ask this interface's
ip, will this interface response? why?
I want to know those. And any addvice or infomation about where to
get the reference
of that subject will be much appreciated.
