Hello all,
I am setting up Internet and Email access for one of my clients. This is my first time
implementing an Internet FireWall. I am looking for any feedback as to what you think
of my proposed set up. The client wants to use MS Exchange as their Mail server as
well as MS Proxy and DNS.
Here is my proposed setup:
Private Network
|
|
Router (With Access lists)
|
|
DMZ--------------------FireWall------Proxy/DNS Servers
| | |
| | |
Exchange Virus |
Server Scanning |
Server |
|
|
Router (with access lists)
|
|
|
Internet
The FireWall will have a quad ethernet interface with the DMZ and the Internet segment
having registered IP addresses while the other two segments supporting the proxy/DNS
and the internal network would use private IP addresses. I will use NAT at the
FireWall. I am only familiar with FW-1. Is there another FireWall product that you can
recommend? I am not rushed for time yet, so I have some time to evaluate different
products.
Thanks a lot for your input in advance.
Saxo
