Why do you need to set up a proxy? Why get involved? If there's
something about your network topology that prevents customers from
using IRC (I can't imagine what right now), that's one thing, but
if you're trying to "protect" them, you're just asking for trouble.
Anything to do with IRC attracts idiots and psychos, and the corresponding
D.o.S. and cracking attempts like Madonna attracts the Paparrazi.
Prepare to be smurfed, if you decide you must go through with it.
