Use a straight through cable from the server to the hub. I'm not familiar
with the DSLPipe unit you mention, but you probably need a straight
through cable to connect this to the hub as well.
You'd only use a cross-over to connect the server NIC directly to another
end station, such as another workstation or the the DSLPipe unit, or if
you were linking two hubs together.
Check to make sure that the hub does not have a "crossover" switch on one
of its ports; many do, so that they can be uplinked to another hub with a
straight through cable instead of a crossed cable.
