there's several honeypots and decoy services available. there's a few free tools like fred cohen's decoy package, and commercial vendors like network associates and iss realsecure have honeypot/decoy service capabilities. does anyone here runa decoy/honeypot on their company's network? is it in front of the firewall? by providing a "honeypot" to make your network look wide open, does that appear as an invitation for hackers to break into you? what value did you expect and has it met your expectations? what are the pros and cons of running one?
