Well, 'eres my opinion, not that you asked for it.

Since anyone can get onto this list, without supplying
seperate credentials as to honesty and integrity, I
classify this as any other Internet mail list - like having
a shouting conversation across a crowded room, where
there are people you know, people you don't know, and
people that aren't immediately visible.

How many people would shout across a crowded restaurant
"Hey, Bob! I'm in Seattle all next week, I should return on Friday!
Here's my home address if you need to know where I won't be." ?

Yet people do this, all the time, on the Internet, using these
autoresponders to respond to an email list.

I guess, to make a long story short, the issue is between the person
gone and the shadowy people we don't see, the ones without
honesty and integrity (not that all lurkers are thieves!!), and by announcing
all the info you can find out about such a person in that same public forum
it makes it easier for the weaker thieves to get involved.

Ug. I think I need more coffee.
