(correct me if I'm wrong on this). However, I'm still
not convinced that packet filtering (stateful or not)
is as secure as a proxy solution.
The vendor we talked to most recently didn't have any
experience with a proxy-based UNIX firewall, so he
didn't have any recommendations. Raptor is the one he
was familiar with that uses proxies, but that
apparently is NT-only.
I'm not willing to consider an NT firewall.
So, I'm looking for a couple of things:
- Is there a good, unbiased, resource with reviews of
the major UNIX firewalls?
- Can anyone make any recommendations for a
proxy-based solution so we at least have something to
compare to FW-1?
- Should I be considering anything else?
thanks!
