Yesterday I was tunning a Pix at a customer and suddenly, when I tried to escape from seeing the configuration with the Q(uit) the telnet halted, I tried another telnet and do the same, and halted too, after that, i could not enter anymore by telnet to the pix, so I connect to the console port my notebook and tried that way, I did the same(wr t and after that pressed the Q key) and halted AGAIN!, after that there was no way to enter to the pix, the only way was shutting it down and restarting it. During this problem, the pix worked as allways filtering and permiting traffic, so It didnt affect the network, until the reset. At least the pix was not in production, so it was not a problem to restart it, but what about if this happens in an operational PIX??? I will open a case in the TAC, but maybe someone here passed through this before and know something.
