Hi all, I've started looking at adaptive firewalls and while I get the basic idea I'd be interested in hearing opinions on some questions I have: * What is the state of this technology at the moment? Looking around the web, I've seen a few commercial offerings but little mention in mailing lists in recent times. Are most/all modern firewalls adaptive to some degree? Are they deemed "a good thing" or is the jury still out? * How effective are they? * When would they be a bad idea? Any pointers to web resources discussing any of the above points would be great.
