Hi all, We have FW-1 at work. Recently, we get tons of http requests/sec. It looks like someone wrote a script to continuously hit our web server. We turn on SYNDefender gateway. It supposes to help, but it also creates other problems as well. The properties is set to 30s for timeout and 10000 connections. We modify the setting several time, but every time we make the changes it seems to cause the same problem - other application get time out. My guess is that we need to increase time out to higher than 30sec. (Why 30sec not enough?) Meanwhile, we drop all connection from the specific host. I love to hear your professional opinion on how to tighten up the network and I also welcome comments about the setting on the syndefender.
