I personally think Napster is too new a product to say that there are no
security issues, any product you provide a gateway for through your
firewall is potentially another security risk, it doesn't matter what
the product is... the more holes the less safe.
As the intinsic nature of Napster is a bit dodgy (no honestly this isn't
a piece of software for distributing MP3 wearz, its just that dishonest
people (or people who don't understand the copyright issues and monetary
issues surrounding the music industry) could use it that way ... but
they wont ... hmmm) I'd be inclined to wait a while to see what uptake
of it is like and to see if any security issues are announced on it. It
could be trojan...it allows transfer of files to a desktop machine, and
it's executable... big warning signs on that one!
