Netware Core Protocol (NCP) uses port 524 for all communication between Netware 5
clients-servers and time synchronization between server-server running IP. I suppose
that an NCP requestor (i.e, Novell client) on public side of fw could compromise a
Novell server on private side, especially if NDS or Bindery authentication were known.
Like Gary said, why tempt fate?

I believe it will allow Internet access to your Novell
file servers if they have IP access enabled. No sense
in tempting fate if you don't need that functionality. :)
