There are accounts that are hidden in the SAM. They are computer
accounts for trusted systems. There should be none that are "user"
accounts.
Just like shares can be hidden by appending a "$" at the end of the
share name, these hidden accounts have "$" appended to them as well.
Appending a "$" to the end of a newly created username will not hide
it from the user manager.

| Subject: NT "hidden users"
| Greetings,
| Recently I heard the term "hidden users":
| users defined in the SAM but not seen in the
| User manager.
| Is it true ?
| Any way to detect such users ?
| Thanks
| Avi
