Checkpoint's FireWall-1 is on product on the list for final decisions
on a firewall product. As we prefer a complete solution, i.e. we want a
box with the firewall in it rather than another machine with another OS
to take care of, we would prefer the FW-1/Nokia solution rather than
having a Solaris system running the FW-1 software.
I now heard -- or better: someone else told me he heard -- that support
for the FW-1 running on the Nokia systems was not as good or much slower
than if you just got the software from Checkpoint for a Solaris system,
because support is provided through Nokia.
Can anybody confirm this -- or the opposite, and are there any other
reasons why the one (Soraris) would be preferable over the other (Nokia)
or the other way around.
Happy New Year,
Markus
