Can anyone tell me the relationship between ActiveX, Flashplayer and
Shockwave? The reason I ask is that when denying ActiveX through a
Gauntlet (v4.1) firewall, access to Flashplayer and Shockwave sites is
also disabled. Am I to assume that they are ActiveX applications?
What are the security implications of allowing ActiveX through the
firewall? I know it used to be a big no-no, but has it improved enough
over the past few years that it's no longer a risk?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
