"Building Internet Firewalls" by Chapman and Zwicky, published by
O'Reilly (http://www.ora.com/). It gives a good overview in the
beginning, and has all the details necessary to understand the
common protocols that are used on the Internet. In my view,
absolutely the best book around for firewalls.
Also see "Firewalls and Internet Security, Repelling the Wily
Hacker" by Cheswick and Bellovin, published by Addison-Wesley.
Another classic in the field. Good overview, and also entertaining
while talking about trapping a cracker!
