If the computer was in Texas or the script kiddes are from Texas, you
could have those script kiddies prosecuted for violations of Chapter 33,
Computer Crime, of the Texas Penal Code. In Texas, it is illegal to access
a computer without proper authorization or in excess of proper authorization.
That could put them in jail for a while and cost them money for fines in
addition to their lawyer's fees. If we could get them to prosecute these
cases, it could have a pretty good impact on such attempts -- at least make
them check on the location of the computer before trying to break into it.
