Hi,

I've installed FW-1 4.0 once for a customer. The installation and the
experience over a period of about 6 months (afterwards I left the company that
supported this customer) showed up no serious problems. I think the main
problem is that Checkpoint uses Solaris as the main platform. Therefore it
might become difficult to get a patch, if there is a problem on the HP-UX.
Another point is that there are probably not very much companies using HP-UX
for FW-1. Thus the experience with problems and bugs will be smaller than on
solaris. Another argument for SUN/Solaris is usually the better support with
network equipment, at least to my experience. You can insert several Quad-Port
Ethernet NIC's into a SUN, while I think this is a problem on IBM and HP.

But in principle you can try it, it worked fine for me.

Best regards
