I found the install of RedHat to be fairly easy on (what was) my EB164
(Aspen Durango), even given that I had to tread lightly around the whole
triple-boot issue- which was a pain in the you-know-what (ARC vs SRM
booting.) I found X to be unstable though, even in the current RH6.1
tree. Other applications were mostly fine though, but I can't
remember having a single kernel issue (once the Alpha kernel code
stabalized- which was a few years ago.)

I'd expected that the DEC hardware would have been even easier to deal
with?

Darn, I didn't even know BSDi was supported, or I'd have been able to
justify another drive!
